By providing users with a multi-layered set of tools that complements and amplifies your thinking – not replaces it.Īt first glance, little appears to be different when you open TheBrain web client. The Brain is, first and foremost, a personal knowledge base – with the emphasis on PERSONAL. It gets a lot of things right while side-stepping some of the shortcomings of other Ai-powered visual mapping tools. I really like TheBrain’s implementation of AI in the latest update of its web client. There may be solutions you can adapt instead of reinventing the wheel. It’s a lot faster than conducting a series of Google searches, and then copying and pasting useful ideas and insights into your mind map.įinally, you can ask AI tools to explore how other industries or professions have solved problems similar to the one you’re facing. I also think it can be a valuable tool for primary research – although it’s currently hard to find AI tools that cite their sources. Often, such a “sleight of head” exercise can reveal new insights. But I do see several practical uses for it.įirst, it’s very useful for helping me look at creative challenges from different perspectives that I may not have considered. I guess I’m kind of a control freak at heart.įrom a creative standpoint, I don’t believe AI is capable of dreaming up original ideas – especially since it is essentially remixing content from the existing web. I’m also not very fond of those that add numerous branches to my map, without letting me decide which ideas to add and which to ignore. First and foremost, I don’t like applications that enable you to build an entire mind map out of a single text prompt. If you watched my Biggerplate presentation in May ( The Brave New World of Visual Thinking Tools), then you know that I take a highly pragmatic view of AI and mind mapping. So let’s take a closer look! But first: My POV about AI I’m impressed with it and I predict you’ll be, too. In this review, we’ll take a closer look at this well-designed enhancement and what it makes possible. But it’s much more than simply bolting a ChatGPT query engine onto its existing application.Īs you’ll see, it takes a very intelligent approach that is designed to help you get the maximum value out of this cutting-edge technology. TheBrain Technologies recently released a new web-based version of its popular personal knowledge management tool, TheBrain, that’s now enhanced with AI. ![]()

![]() I highly encourage you to read through the man page for all of the other useful options. There are many other useful options to pass to the cp command: like -v for "verbose" output or -f for "force." Here you can see that thanks to the -n flag the contents of directory-1/a.txt were not overwritten. Or, to prevent overwrites without being prompted, you can add the -n or -no-clobber flag: $ cat a.txt Overwrite directory-1/a.txt? Here you can see that because directory-2 already exists-and the input source didn't have a trailing /-both the contents of directory-1 and the directory itself was copied into the destination. If you want to copy the contents of the directory and the directory folder itself into another directory, don't add a trailing /: $ ls If you want to copy just the contents of the directory into another directory, add a trailing / to your input. If the source_file ends in a /, the contents of the directory are copied rather than the directory itself. Here's the description from the -R option of the man page: If source_file designates a directory, cp copies the directory and the entire subtree connected at that point. ![]() There is an interesting edge case when you copy a directory: if the destination directory already exists, you can choose whether to copy the contents of the directory or the entire directory by adding or removing a trailing / from your input. ![]() How to copy the entire directory vs the contents of the directory Here directory-1 containing the file a.txt is copied to a new directory called directory-2-which now also contains the file a.txt. If you have a file named a.txt, and you want a copy of that file named b.txt: $ lsĪ.txt b.txt If you're not familiar with the ls command, ls "lists" all the contents of a directory.īy default the cp command uses your current directory as the path. ![]() ![]() ![]() If you have more batteries thus warming pads then what the sensor can handle by itself, we would then have the same sensor control a 12 VDC coil relay with the heat panel’s load circuit powering through the relay’s higher amp rated contacts. The sensor would be mounted in the storage container or compartment, in and around the batteries since that is what we trying to protect. We had this sensor designed for us over 15 years ago, and it has since become the 'Standard of Use' in many other industries as well. The panels are then controlled by a separate electronic ambient temperature sensor triggering device operating on 12VDC, preprogrammed to power 'ON' the panels with an ambient temperature fall to 35☏ (1.7☌) and de-activate upon a rise to 45☏ (7.2☌). Import for the reason that many times the system is drawing power from the battery bank itself, and it may be off-grid. Direct contact to the case is the most efficient and stable way to transfer heat into the Lithium Cells, doing so with the minimum amount of amp draw possible. The panels or pads are adhered directly to the battery itself via a peel-n-stick pressure sensitive adhesive integrated into the pads themselves. We have subsequently improved our designs to embrace a two separate heat panel system that could better adapt to the newer battery case sizes, still attaching one panel on each of the length sides of the battery. Recent years, we have seen some dynamic changes within the industry and Li battery case dimensions, moving away from the standard automotive battery size groups. Our first Lithium battery warmer designs started out as one long heat panel (we call a "clam-shell") wrapping three sides of the battery, placing a heating element on each length side of the battery. Our systems are not one size-fits-all, our pads are customized to match your battery system’s series case dimensions and operational voltage. These are designed just for use with the new and more expensive Lithium-ion batteries, and with their charging systems whether used as a RV or MARINE house battery, golf cart, trolling, or a SOLAR energy back up or OFF-Grid rack mounted system. Tested and approved by the Lithium battery manufactures themselves, these are not a heat pads designed for something else and then made to work on batteries like most of what we see mentioned in the blog sites or on the web. With this new style we place a heat panel with our exclusive “UltraHeat Technology” heating element on both the length sides of the battery and drive heat towards the center, allowing the cells to heat consistently and evenly throughout. What we came up with is what we have called the “wrap” style battery warmer which is often referred to as a battery blanket. Over the past 9 plus years we have been sought out by, and have consulted with most the major Lithium battery manufactures on both the North American and European continents, to design a low voltage solution for their cold weather concerns. ![]() Back in the 1980’s, we sold a lot of battery warmers sometimes also referred to as battery heaters that operated on mostly 120VAC, generally to the semi-tracker trucking industry, and largely up in Canada. We may be best known for our RV water system UltraHeat heating pads that we first introduced to the RV industry back in 1988, however we have been producing heat panels using our proprietary heating element for a variety of other industries worldwide, since 1975. ![]() ![]() Jumping another ramp and crossing the log to the west. The levels of transcripts and metabolites in pathways leading to scent formation were coordinately up-regulated during petal development, implying transcriptional induction of metabolic pathways preceding scent formation. Genes up-regulated during petal development were enriched in functions related to secondary metabolism, fatty acid catabolism, and amino acid transport, whereas down-regulated genes were enriched in processes involved in cell growth, cell wall formation, and fatty acid biosynthesis. Integrative analysis of transcripts and metabolites in snapdragon sepals and petals over flower development performed in this study revealed a profound developmental remodeling of gene expression and metabolite profiles in petals, but not in sepals. However, to date little is known about how flowers control their entire metabolic network to achieve the highly regulated production of metabolites attracting pollinators. Previous work has focused on elucidating the developmental regulation of pathways leading to the formation of pollinator-attracting secondary metabolites such as scent compounds and flower pigments. Evolutionary and reproductive success of angiosperms, the most diverse group of land plants, relies on visual and olfactory cues for pollinator attraction. ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a sign that you’re within a deep sleep stage and need it to feel rested.
